DNKA 0.42 is an interesting tool that lets you make remote searches on other PCs using Google Desktop Search( Here) which logically must be installed on the PCs you use to access.

So, in place of making local searches on your PC, you can access other systems and use the program to make all types of advanced searches. You can use the file index for this that you have done with Google Desktop Search on that PC.

Of course, to block access to unauthorized people, the user who shares the local hard drive can configure users (with their corresponding password) to access it or simply allow access to certain IPs.
